Weekend Project

Steve and our good friend Gerald assembled a much needed shed this weekend. We love having a husband/daddy who is so handy and good friends who are willing to help. Now we'll actually be able to walk around in our garage without bumping in to odds and ends because they'll be in the shed! Emry "helped" by handing daddy screws and dancing on the platform of the shed. :)

An almost complete shed. The doors were added a few minutes later.

Out and About

Here are some shots of Emry at Story Time and Shepherd's Singers (a little group for young kids at our church).

She loves being front and center during Story Time (in the purple shirt). Does not care in the least where I am. :)

Again, loves being up front during Shepherd's Singers.

Officially A Big Girl

Soooo...I just have to brag a little. This morning while I was putting on makeup, Emry was giving it her all to go #2 in her diaper. Straining, straining, and more straining. After several attempts, she walked over to the toilet and said, "Potty, potty" and lifted up the lid. I checked her diaper and realized she hadn't successfully gone and was actually asking to try to go on the potty. We rushed to our guest bathroom where her training seat is...I set her on the toilet. After about a minute of pushing and saying "all done" I encouraged her to push one more time and sure enough, Emry POO fell into the toilet! I was histerical with excitement and was stunned because we haven't been actively potty training. After we wiped her bottom, she wanted to flush and waved "bye bye" as it disappeared. Of course, I had to take a pic and send it to daddy. I never thought I'd be so excited about human feces. Hopefully this is the first step to a successful potty training adventure. Way to go EMRY!

Mommy and Me Day

Emry and I had another girls day as daddy was in Ames, IA...AT the ISU/Iowa game. I followed the game at home as much as I could and had to find the score online after it went into overtime b/c our DVR stopped recording right as OT began. What an intense amazing game to be a part of! I'm so glad Steve had the chance to go.

While we were by our lonesome, we played outside, ran errands, did laundry, went "winging" at the park, ate pancakes for dinner, and read books before bed. I love snuggling with her in her new bed!

It's hard to see in this picture but she got her first big scrape this morning when she tripped over her soccer ball...first she landed on her knee and then her chin broke the end of the fall. She recovered quickly after we cleaned it up and she couldn't wait to get back outside and play.

Spotted this adorable backpack at JoAnn's at 70 % off. Couldn't resist! She loves it!

Wanted to be just like Dora and wear her backpack.

Week 33 Checkup

This morning, Emry and I headed to my OB's office to see how baby and I are doing at 33 weeks. Emry did so well in the waiting area and doctor's room. The doc said the bloodwork from my 28 week visit came back great! I passed my glucose test with flying colors which I figured since I never received a call back. I've gained considerably less weight at this point in the pregnancy than I did with Emry and I'm VERY happy about that! My BP was 124/84, and the doc was fine with that for now. Baby's heart rate was 146...I'm convinced it's a girl b/c Emry's HR was around that same number. Only time will tell! I start going every two weeks and starting at 36 weeks, I'll go weekly. It's beyond me that this pregnancy is coming to a close. It absolutely FLEW by! We can't wait to meet you little peanut.

Toddler Story Time

We went to our first story time at the public library today. Emry loved the singing so much she galloped right up to the front near the instructor and showed off her moves. The parachute was also a big hit...after she figured out she could run under it, that's all she wanted to do. At the end, all the kids colored a farm themed picture and chose a book to checkout. I was impressed with all the activities included in the 30 minute session. Hopefully, we'll be weekly visitors.

Girls Weekend Continued...

Emry and I headed to West Des Moines early Sunday morning, to spend the day/evening with G & G Sheriff. Gma Sheriff had knee replacement surgery about two weeks ago, so we thought we'd give her hugs and kisses in person! The weather was absolutely gorgeous so after visiting indoors for a while, we were able to comfortably play in their backyard. Gpa Sheriff helped Emry pick some yummy apples from their apple tree and Emry went swinging with her Great Grandma Schmidt (Linda's mother). This morning, we headed to a neat little park and again, the weather was perfect. Priceless moments to cherish! I was nervous upon our departure b/c it was just the two of us...BUT Emry was an amazingly good traveler this trip both ways. Thanks for hosting G & G Sheriff...we loved every moment with you both!

Swinging with Great Gma Schmidt.

Gma Sheriff manages to push Emry while on crutches! Amazing.

Girls Weekend

Emry and I are flying solo this weekend as Steve is in Colorado for a bachelor weekend. While we miss daddy, we had some quality time together just us girls. Here are a few shots I took today.

Practicing her soccer skills. Still have some work to do...this would be a blatant "hand ball!"

Loves banging these ladder balls against the bumper of my van...oh brother.

Creative way to use a bucket and shovel indoors. :)

Belly Shots...Finally

Better late than never I guess. I've been terrible about taking belly shots of this pregnancy. Here are some of Emry lovin' on her new brother or sister.
