Morning Wagon Ride
My mom and I took Emry on a walk this morning. It was CHILLY so I bundled Emry in her oversized winter coat, hat, mittens, and a blanket. She looked like Randy from A Christmas Story. Hilarious! Despite the cool air, Emry dozed off a few times. Too cute!
Pumpkins Etc.
Yesterday, we headed to Pumpkin Etc. in Platte City with my mom and step-dad. This is an adorable little place with mums galore, a darling gift shop, furry kittens, bails of hay, and of course, PUMPKINS! Most of them were picked over but that's okay because we already have ours. As I've said before, I absolutely LOVE fall and outings like these are the essence of this season. :)

9 Month Well Checkup
This morning, Emry had her 9 month checkup. The doc said she looks great and that she can have all table food except for peanut butter and whole milk. This makes me VERY happy because we don't have to buy baby food anymore. However, I have a fear of infant/toddler choking...ughh. I hate that I'm on edge after every bite she takes! Thankfully, she has an excellent pincer grasp so she doesn't put more than one scrap in her mouth at a time. Once she gets her molars, I'll be more at ease. Emry was excited to have Grandma Julie at her appointment. Grandma held her while she got her flu shot. Poor thing. She worked out her anger with a few tears and then toughened up. Here's how Emry measures up to the other 9 month olds:
Weight: 19 lbs 2 oz; 50-75 percentile
Height: 29 in.; 90 percentile
Head Circumference: 18 1/4 in.; 90-95 percentile

9 Months
Our sweet baby girl turned 9 months today! As I always say, she's changed so much and we're enjoying every flippin' minute with her. She's doing all of the same things as the previous months with a few new tricks up her sleeve. She is now crawling and has cut her two top teeth. She now has a total of four teeth. Even though I'm thankful she's developmentally on track, these pearly whites have been quite painful when I nurse. She's nibbled a few times and actually drew blood last night. Her days of drinking breast milk may be numbered. We'll see how things go. She also loves clapping when she hears an excited inflection in our voice. Too cute! It's officially time to begin planning her 1st birthday party!

Alldredge Apple Orchard
Emry and I headed to a local, quaint apple orchard this afternoon. We didn't pick any apples because we still have so many from G & G Sheriff but we had a good time checking things out. On our walk to their small pumpkin patch, we saw the rows and rows of apple trees with chickens amidst them scrounging for food. We also saw a pony, several goats, beautiful mums, colored leaves, rustic barns, and hearty orange pumpkins. All of these absolutely make Fall the best season! I only captured a few pics of Emry since I was alone. Enjoy!

Our Little Punkin'
Emry had her first pumpkin patch experience at Carolyn's Country Cousins yesterday evening. Admission is FREE for all family members from 3-6pm, Tues-Thurs. What a deal! She was a little too young to really appreciate the atmosphere and activities but we think she enjoyed herself. We can't wait to bring her next fall when she's toddling around. :)
Bean
We recently rummaged through Emry's infant hat collection since the weather is getting chilly. Do ya think this one fits? :)

On the Move
Here are some pics of Emry crawling. I captured a few before her weekend ordeal and a few this evening. She's gaining confidence each time she crawls and is realizing she can finally get to the things that have peaked her interest for so long like: outlets, remotes, cell phones, and laptop cords. It's officially time to baby-proof the house.
Saddest thing ever
Up until now we've been blessed with Emry's good health. Thursday, she wasn't herself and this lead to a fever Friday morning. I took the day off work to take care of my poor baby. She saw the doctor that morning and the doc said it was just a virus...not much we could do. It broke my heart to see her so lethargic and uncomfortable. On Saturday, she developed a cough that sounded like a barking seal. Every cough was followed by whimpers. So sad! We thought about taking her to urgent care but after speaking with a nurse we tried a few home remedies that she recommended. They sort of worked so we decided to see how things went overnight. After three nights of poor sleep for both Emry and us, her fever broke and she was fever less this morning. She's still has a little cough and isn't quite herself but she's improved. Unfortunately, my dad and step-mom were visiting from Minnesota so they didn't get to experience their granddaughter at her best. This was literally the most heartbreaking experience Steve and I have ever witnessed so we're praying that Emry has good health soon and for a LONG time.

Whoooaa...here she comes...
Monday evening, Emry crawled a few inches on all fours! I was hysterical and she looked at me like I was a mad woman. My hootin', hollerin', clappin' did not impress her! Since then, she's becoming more confident and a little more adventurous each day. Her longest distance was about 3 ft at Gayle's. Every evening I've tried getting it on video and she just giggles at me instead of showing off. She must be pooped out from all her hard work during the day. I never thought I'd get so emotional about this. I'm just so thankful that she's healthy and on track. Even though my life will never be the same now that she's mobile, I thank God for her ability to reach this milestone! Look for pictures soon.
