Emry's friend Madison came over to visit last night. The girls share the same birthday (Madison is older by 18 hours) and we met the Rogers family through mutual friends in Minnesota. We haven't gotten together since July so it was about time! It's obvious these two will be great buds!

Snow Day #8
A Friday is the perfect time for another snow day...our 8th to be precise! Oh how we love three day weekends. Here are some snapshots of miss Emry on her extra day at home with Mommy and Daddy.
Eatin' some cinnamon toast for breakfast.
Watchin' Daddy shovel the steps.
Holding onto the kitchen spindles and dancin'!
This is why mommy and daddy shouldn't leave papers at the top of the steps.
Havin' some milk before her second nap.

Valentine's Day with Mommy
Emry's daycare provider had jury duty today so she got to spend it with me! I'm so envious of all the stay-at-home moms. I so so LOVE being in charge of Emry's schedule and I'm comforted knowing that I'm responsible of her well-being. I also love how I can keep up with household chores/laundry/errands, etc. This would be amazing if I could do this everyday. Thankfully, we have Gayle who is literally an angel on earth. She loves Emry like family and takes great care of her. Thanks for allowing me to help provide for our family!
Here are several pics of our morning together. Enjoy the sweetest 13 month old!

Gonna Get You!!!
Emry and Steve play "Gonna Get You" daily! Steve randomly says, "I'm gonna get you," and Emry will immediately drop whatever she's doing and speed-crawl away from him. She LOVES this game I finally got a few pics of them in action. Most of them were too blurry so here are the best ones. They are in order from the smile, to crawling away, to Daddy getting her!

Visit to Shoal Creek
Emry's sitter was out of town today so Steve stayed home with her. She hadn't met my students yet so I suggested that he bring her up for a visit. She must have been stunned by the number of kids in the room because she absolutely froze. She didn't smile, talk, or want to be put down. I was surprised because usually she lights up when she sees other children. By the end, she warmed up a little but was ready to leave. My students were so sweet with her and told me that they were so happy they got to meet her. Seeing my sweet girl totally made my day! The quality of the pics aren't that great but you get the idea.

SNOW-torious B.I.G.!!!
An intense blizzard payed our neighborhood a visit along with the entire state of Missouri. This was the most snow Steve and I have seen since we've lived in Kansas City. The mayor eventually declared a state of emergency for the city. Steve actually went out in the treacherous weather for an orthodontist appointment and said the roads were AWFUL! His line of view was blocked except for right in front of his car. For him to say it was bad means it was BAD because he's usually a brave winter weather driver. By mid-afternoon, we couldn't see beyond the houses directly next to or behind us. Thankfully we were prepared to be snuggled in all day. Emry took two LONG naps, I cleaned and painted some shelves for a bookcase, and Steve ran his errands and prepared the man cave for a mini-remodel.
